Valley Creamery -- This is a modern enteprise which is exciting interest in a widely extending circle, and must prove of great value to the whole community. Its location is a half mile west of the village, near the railroad, it is in a building 22x40 feet, and was constructed in the spring of 1881. It has an upright steam engine of six horse-power. The capacity of the establishment is 3,000 pounds a day, and three men are employed for inside work. It is under the supervision of O. P. Walker, the Superintendent being B. H. Holmes.

5 Jul 1895: Oscar Walker was brought to Chatfield to be buried. Was buried by the Workmen. Wallace Loughrey came with him. He came home with Perry.

OBITUARY: CHATFIELD DEMOCRAT, JULY 5, 1895 [M Hagen]
O. P. WALKER KILLED BY AN EXPLOSION AT HOWARD, S. D.
Howard, S. D., July 2 -- The boiler in the Howard Roller Mills exploded this afternoon, completely wrecking the building, killing the engineer and seriously injuring five other people, three of whom probably fatally. The two proprietors of the mill are not expected to live. The victims are: O. P. Walker , engineer, killed; T. C. Gould of LeMars, Iowa, and J. P. Lawson, proprietors of the mill, are not expected to live; Robert Debolt, badly mangled and burned, will probably die; W. A. Clark, a druggist, injured in both legs, an arm broken and head badly hurt, will survive; C. A. Lawson, seriously burned. The loss of the building is about $20,000. Mr. O. P. Walker, who was killed by the explosion, was formerly a resident
of Chatfield. His remains have been sent here for burial and arrived on the noon train. He was a member of the A. O. U. W. and Chatfield lodge will have charge of the funeral. The wife of the deceased, who is the daughter of Mr. R. Butts, was here visiting relatives at the time of her cruel bereavement.

MILTON-FREEWATER -- Mr and Mrs. V. B. Wlker with Francis and Raymond are leaving Wednesday for Chicago and Cinncinnati to visit thei daughter Elizabeth and son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Walker. Elizabeth is teaching at the conservatory at Oxford, Ohio and Warren is studying under Max Bown, Celoist with the Cincinnati Symphony and is studying piano under Robert Goldsard.

URDETTE WALKER and ESTHER WALTER:WALTER-WALKER WEDDING SUNDAY - 1940
At a simple ceremony performed at 21 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the First Presbyterian Church of Walla Walla, Miss Esther Walter, daughter of Mrs. R.W. WALTER OF Milton, became the bride of Burdett Walker, son of Mr. And Mrs. W.B. Walker of Milton. Dr. W.H. Bleakney read the service in the presence of members of the two families and a few friends. The bride was attractive in a gown of wisteria crepe, with matching hat and corsage formed of an orchid and Lilies of the Valley . She was attended by her sister, Mrs. Erwin J. Beard of Walla Walla, as matron of honor, who wore brown with corsage of Talisman Roses.
Denton Walker, brother of the bridegroom was his best man.
Mr. And Mrs. Walter left by automobile for Portland.
