Subject: Fwd: Re: Dixson Family

Hi Gwen, Also, if you check out the surname Dishon, it goes back to Dixson, Dixon. They are tied in with the Rubottom families of Orange Co. North Carolina and the Quaker or Friends church. There is a website (Rubottom Reminiscin) by Dr. Danene Brown Veincent copyright 1999, which has history and genealogy of these families.

Rubottom Reminiscin' clickable

Some of the families associated with the Dixson-Dixon surname are Moon, Mills, Feagans, Figgins, Peason and Pierson. which I have cousins in all those families. My grandparents Charlie and Ruth Dixson Figgins are buried in Oak Creek Cemetery, which is where the Friends Church stood in Jewell Co. Ks. I have visited all the different cemeteries in Jewell Co. and Norton Co. while on vacation in 2003 and 2004, just to get the dates of birth and deaths right.

I agree about the mix-up in this family. I'll be looking forward to your research on these family and wish you all the luck. All it takes to talking to the right person or clicking on the right website. I wish it was that simple. Thank you for writing back to me

Billy Figgins

Notes for JAMES JACKSON DIXSON:

(Provided by Billy Figgins)

There is a copy of a letter from James Jack Dixon in Washington State dated Febr. 23, 1927 to Eliza Jane Sprague Dixson , John Dishon Dixson's wife.

Dear Sister, I will try and answer your letter which I received a few days ago and I can't explain to you how glad I was to hear from you. I am living with Alice and Perry now. Don't know how long I will be here. I am in the rabbit business now. I am raising rabbits for a campany in Missoury (Missouri) I am feeling pretty well for me but I take 2 kinds of medicines 3 times a day and if I don't, I am right back in bed. But I think if I was back there I would get all right. I had a sick spell last July and I haven't done any work since and I guess I never will anymore. But I don't care much for I have never been happy anymore. The doctors say I have the leakage of the heart and high blood and if I go to a high altitude I will die. ( He wrote it High Latitude) If it was not for my children, it anyhow. Elmer is here with us, Floid(Floyd) is in town. He works in the paper mills. Ralph is in Cali. Id-e is married. Lon is with him. Ada lives here in town. She has 3 boys and 2 girls. Her name is Lanee. My how I wish I could come and see you all once more. But I guess I cannot. Lide, I have got me a car and I just of round and visit and have it easy as I can, for it won't be long at the most for me so I am going to take it easy as possible. Tell all the kids to write to me. It cheers me up to hear from them. I go down to the bay every few days and watch the boats come in and go out and go fishing is the way I spend my spare time. Well Lide, I don't know anymore to write so I guess I will chose. Write soon and often as I love to hear from you all if I can't get to see you.

From your brother J. J. Dixson

This letter was written in pencil
