Mr and Mrs. Frank J. Parent

Mr and Mrs. Frank J. Parent, who were married in Walla Walla 60 years ago, will be honored at a reception at their Sunquist Road Home Sunday. Hours are 2 to 5 p.m. and the couple requests there be no gifts.

Parent's family moved from Seattle to Walla Walla in 1893. mrs. Parent, nee Edna Thompson, came from Nebraska to Milton-freewater with her family in 1902. Mr. and Mrs Parent live on the farm on which Mrs. Parent's family settled 71 years ago.

The parents have farmed -- fruit, dairy, poultry -- in the Milton-Freewater area for all of their married years, except for six when they were in Boise, Idaho.

There children are Edwin Paren, James Parent and Herbert Parent, all of Milton-Freewater, adn Mrs. Dick Menke of Spokane. There are 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Lavetta E. Parent

MILTON-FREEWATER -- Miss Lavetta Parent, 49, of route 2 died at her home Tuesday morning. She had been in ill health for some time.

Miss Parent was born July 27, 1916, in Walla Walla. In her younger days she had been active in the 4-H Club at Fruitvale, where she attended school, for a short time she went to a school in Boise, Idaho.

She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Parent, with whom she made her home; one sister, Mrs. Barbara Brown of Spokane; three brothers, James Edwin and Herbert all of Milton-Freewater.
