1. GEORGE ALFRED3 HOBBS (DARWIN HENRY2, JOHN K1) was born 27 Feb 1851 in Sheridan, LaSalle, Illinois, and died 17 Jan 1937 in Oregon City, Clackamas, Oregon1. He married ALICE MELISSA (ELISE MELANIE) BERNARD 02 Feb 1873 in LaSalle County, Illinois2,3. She was born 07 Jul 1854 in Solbach, Alsace-Lorraine, France4, and died 11 Dec 1939 in Portland Sanitarium, Portland, Oregon4,5.

Notes for GEORGE ALFRED HOBBS:

Some information provided by Ardie Grimes - mad_genealogist@yahoo.com

Hi, a friend told me about your museum site (http://museum.bmi.net/pioneer_%20Steps_names.htm) with the link to George & Alice Hobbs.

Alice Bernard Hobbs was the sister of my great grandfather, Louis Charles Bernard. I've been researching her family for about 25 years - below is what I've collected to date, but haven't yet found any descendants. I'm also not 100% certain that George's father is John Ridgley Hobbs. John could be his grandfather.

I would guess that the Bonnie Marguerite Hobbs you have listed is not a child of George and Alice, but more likely the child of Charles Darwin Hobbs. Alice would have been age 53 in 1907 - not impossible, but not likely.

I would be pleased if you wish to update your information online, and include my name & email address as a contact person. As I mentioned before, I've been tracking this family for nearly 25 years, and have been unsuccessful until the last 3-4 years.

I started with only names, their location in 1922, and the fact that they attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church. If you have any additional information about them, I would be estatic.

Sincerely,

Ardie Grimes
