She is survived by two children, Mrs Mabel Hodgson of Weston and Lowell hyatt of Dayton, Wash.; Three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Alice Powers of Weston and a brother, John Parks of California.

BIOGRAPHY:
George Wilford Sicard was born Feb. 21,1904 in Bottineau, North Dakota. He was 15 years old when his mother died in 1919. He and his family moved to Woodburn, OR in 1922. George married Nina Pearl Parks in Vancouver, WA on May 26, 1926, after a 3 year courtship. George worked on the riverboat, the Claire, a stern wheeler until he married Pearl at a $5 ceremony. (The minister wanted $10, but he settled for the $5 after George stumbled going up the court house steps.) After numerous short jobs, George went to work for the Admiral Lines Steamship Company for $35 a week and worked for 5 years. He then worked for 15 years as a longshoreman. During World War II, he worked at the Oregon Ship Yards making Liberty Ships. Pearl & George moved to Boardman, OR on April 17, 1946 with their family (3 children: Carolyn, born May 21, 1931; Robert, born June 27, 1933; and Maxine, born Sept. 13, 1939) to work on the McNary Dam. He never worked on the dam, however, because he was a Rigger in the Boiler Makers Union, and the Riggers in the Carpenters Union had been contracted for the job.
George & Pearl decided to build up their dairy farm, and became one of the first sellers of Grade A milk to Mayflower Milk Co-op. George learned to love working with the animals, and in fact continued to work with his son after he retired. He enjoyed living near his children and watching his grandchildren develop and grow. He was a man who loved and spent his entire life for his family.

Mabel Eunice Hyatt was born on Weston Mt. Sept. 16, 1892, where she lived and got most of her schooling. In July 1912 she and a Mrs. Jones went down the the Hodgson farm to cook in the cookhouse for the harvest hands through harvest. There she met Jim Hodgson, in her own words "how well I remember, we got to the farm about noon, the men were all sitting in the shade waiting for dinner. I said to Mrs. Jones "Who is that young man with the pretty brown eyes?" She told me that is Mrs. Hodgson's son Jim, and I think it was LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT. 1912 was a wet harvest and the cook house leaked, making everything miserable. I married Jim Feb. 2, 1913. I went to Corvallis in the fall and Jim came to Weston. He worked for Mr. Hodgson that summer and in the fall of 1913 we leased the Tom Kirk farm at Athena, OR. Jan 12, 1914 our first daughter was born, Sept 26, 1915 one son was born and in the fall of 1916 we sold out and moved to LaCrosse, WA. We rented a farm there and Jan 13 a daughter was born. She died Mar 24, 1918. We farmed at LaCrosse 3 yrs. We sold out there and spent the winter in Weston. That summer, 1919, we moved to Idaho. That spring Jim had pneumonia, heart trouble and rhumatism, he was in bed 3 weeks at LaCrosse. We went to the Hot Springs Hot Lake Hospital, we were there about 3 weeks. That summer we leased 850 Acres of farm of wheat from the Indians. Wheat went down that fall, and lost everything. We came back to Weston for the winter. In the spring we moved to on the Mountain with the Hyatts.(Mabels Folks) We worked in harvest in the summer, the next spring Jim rented 20 acres from Joe and we rented the Perric house. That fall we rented the Bryson house. We lived there 3 years, then Jim leased the Cannon place. We lived there until the fall of 1927. We bought a place on Pea Ridge, we were there 2 yrs. We moved to Kennewick, we were there 3 yrs and we lost everything. We went to work on a farm near Eurika and worked there two or three years. Then we came to Weston, I worked at Lew's then we leased the Wren place for 5 years, and in the fall of 1936 we moved down here on the old home place. We bought the old home place in 1937. In the summer Aug 1, 1946 we started on our vacation trip to the Yellowstone National Park. The first night we stayed in Boise. Jim had a heart attack about 4 in the afternoon. We worked with him till the Dr. Jenmeson in Twin Falls got there. He died about 8:30 or 8:45 Aug 2, 1946 Twin Falls Hospital. We brought him back to Weston for Buriel Aug 6, 1946.

WESTON MAN DIES IN IDAHO
WESTON - James L. Hodgson, Weston mountain farmer, died of a heart attack in Twin Falls, Idaho, Saturday morning according to news received here. With his wife and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Winn of Milton, he was en-route to Yellowstone National Park for a vacation. The body is to be brought back to Weston for burial.
Hodgson, who was past 50 years old, was born in Umatilla County and had lived his entire life in the district.
Besides his wife, the former Mable Hyatt, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Archie Bishop of Weston; a son, Leo Hodgson of Sweet Home; one sister, Mrs. Earl G. Olsen of Walla Walla, and three brothers, Robert, Lester and Floyd Hodgson, all of Walla Walla.

LOWELL HYATT LEARNS TO SWIM, WHEN BOAT SINKS Lowell Hyatt, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Hyatt of Weston, was a fireman on board the U.S.S. Lincoln, torpedoed 500 miles off the coast of France. His parents have just heard from him in a letter on YMCA stationery from New York, and feel fortunate and happy that their boy is still living, as he had an exceedingly narrow escape. For one thine, he found that he could swim when he had to, even though he never swam before. But let us use his own words in narrating the adventure. "I was about twelve feet below the water line, in the coal bunker, when the torpedo struck. I was knocked down and coverd up with coal, with some twelve feet of water over me. How I got out is more than I can say--only that one of the boys said he saw me going down the second time and he jumped in and pulled me out. When word was passed for all hands to leave the ship, everyone was going over the side and swimming to a lifeboat, a raft, or anything they could find. You know I couldn't swim, and I didn't know what to do, but just stood there and looked wise until the boat was about to go out of sight: then I jumped into the water and although I thought I never would come to the top I finally did, and to my surprise I was swimming, too. I swam to a liferaft and hung on to it for eighteen hours with just my head and shouders sticking out. To make it all the worse for us, the sea was real rough and the waves would wash over us. I lost everthing I had. I had saved nearly $50 to send home but it went down with my clothes--and now I must get a new outfit of clothes."

RITES TO BE HELD FOR LOWELL HYATT - WESTON
Services will be conducted at Dayton, Monday for Lowell L. Hyatt, 57, chief engineer of the Green Giant Canning Company, who died of a heart ailment at Twin Falls, ID. He had been at Buhl on business for three weeks.
Hyatt was born at Weston, Sept. 7, 1895. He spent his boyhood and early married life in Weston and later moved to Dayton.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Maude Hyatt of Dayton, one daughter, Miss Barbara Hyatt of Pullman; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Hodgson of Weston; a niece, Mrs. Archie Bishop and a nephew, Leo Hodgson of Milton-Freewater.

Funeral services for Elmer John Mikulecky, 90, of Coos Bay, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, at Coos Bay Chapel, 685 Anderson Ave. Mike Barnard, of Hauser Community Church, will officiate. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Interment will be held privately at Sunset Memorial Park, 63060 Millington Frontage Road, in Coos Bay.
Elmer was born Aug. 5, 1915, in Gwymne, Alberta, Canada, to John B. and Agnes A. Mikulecky. He died Oct. 3, 2005, in Coos Bay.
He moved to Roseburg with his parents in the 1920s; to Vogal Creek on Coos River; and then in the early '30s to Lillian Creek, where his parents had bought 40-plus acres. Elmer attended Coos River High School by mailboat.
On Aug. 10, 1940, Elmer married Imogene L. Peterson. Together they had two sons, Orville John and Larry Gene.
Elmer later remarried, to Ruby E. (Parks) Schrader on June 5, 1948. Together they had two sons, James Cleo and Lawrence George Schrader.
He worked for 26 years at Evans Products Mill, currently the site of Fred Meyer, until its closure. He then worked for Weyerhaeuser before his retirement in 1977. He continued to work on the farm until late 2003.
Elmer enjoyed the great outdoors and spent a lot of his time hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed wood carving and taxidermy. Elmer, Ruby, and their family and friends, usually would spend a month in Eastern Oregon every year, camping near their favorite hunting and fishing area. He loved to archery hunt mule deer. He also enjoyed smelt dipping at Muscle Reef with family members in the '50s; and enjoyed salmon fishing in the ocean and elk hunting in the Tioga area.
On June 5, 1989, Elmer celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary with Ruby, family and friends.
Elmer was a happy, good-natured man and was fun to be around. He was a hard worker, good provider for his family and a great family man, teaching them his many skills.
He is survived by his four sons, James Cleo Schrader and wife, Marianne, of Sisters, seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, Lawrence George Schrader and wife, Katy, and two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren, Orville John Mikulecky, two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren, and Larry Gene Mikulecky and wife, Mary Jane, and four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Elmer is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby; parents, John and Agnes; and sisters, Mary Leighton, Sophia Willard, Ethel Geer and Dorothy Long.
The family suggests memorial contributions to South Coast Hospice, 1620 Thompson Road, Coos Bay, OR 97420.
Arrangements are under the direction of Coos Bay Chapel, 267-3131.

Harold was of the old school, according to Elvada. When she suggested getting a job, he stated that HE could support the family even if he had to get a second job. He held down many jobs in his life. He work as a logger, in the mill, at Safeway, and he was a pattern maker at the shipyard. After WWII, he became a real estate broker until retirement. Harold suffered from extreme vascular problems. This resulted in the loss of his left leg and ultimately his death. He spent much time in the hospital with his wife at his side. He passed away in Emmanuel Hosp., Portland, Oregon.

Funeral slated for Selmer Lewis
Selmer E. Lewis, an electrician for the University of Alaska's Geophysical Institute, died Thursday. Services are slated for 1 p.m. Sunday, preceded by a two-hour visitation.
Lewis was born in Washington on July 13, 1916. He lived in the Fairbanks area for the past 27 years, having come to Alaska from Grants Pass, Ore.
Surviving Lewis are his widow, Donna Jean, daughters Cheryl and Diane and sons James and Douglas, all of Fairbanks. A Sister, Yvonne Haas, lives in Medford, Ore.
The family suggests that donations be made to the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital in lieu of flowers.

Imogene Marie Reyman, 82, of Crescent City, Calif., died March 12, 2007, at a local hospital in Crescent City.
She was born Oct. 27, 1924, in Grants Pass to Albert and Elsie Ross.
She worked as an exercise instructor at the Del Norte Senior Center. She was a member of the Church of Christ where she was a Bible teacher, Crescent City TOPS and KOPS and Crescent Harbor Art Gallery.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years Harold Reyman of Crescent City; children Paul Reyman of Johannesburg, South Africa, Deanna Scott of Boise, Idaho, Doug Reyman of Los Angeles, Peggy Gifford of Medford. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, at Church of Christ, Ninth and E streets in Crescent City.
The family requests remembrances be made in her name to Reyman Africa Mission, P.O. Box 2861, Vancouver, WA 98668, which will benefit Khayelihle Children's Village-Zimbabwe, Africa.
Arrangements under the direction of Wier's Mortuary Chapel of Crescent City.
