Notes for David C. Dilts:

Historical Newspapers > Walla Walla Union Bulletin (Walla Walla, Washington) > 1956 > June > 19

HOME AGAIN - Mr. and Mrs. David Dilts (she's the former Beth Ann Brinker) arrived back in "home territory" on Friday after a sea and land voyage that took them through several European countries and across a good deal of the United States. Since their marriage last April, the Diltses have been living in Wiesbaden, Germany where he was stationed with the US Air Force. Enroute home, they visited with Lt. and Mrs. Michael McNamara (Ruthie McLean) who are living elsewhere in Germany, then had a week in Italy, another week in France and the same length of stay in Holland. Upon their arrival in New York, where Dilts was separated from the Army, they did a bit of sightseeing and spent one evening with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Yancey (she was Mary Ann Schaffer of Waitsburg), then after a week's stay, traveled to Washington, D.C. for a day where they were guests of Congressman Hal Holmes and Mrs. Holmes. Turning westward, the Diltses - and their Scotty dog, acquired in Germany - traveled through Kentucky before "hitting the homeward trail". They'll be living in Walla Walla for the summer, visiting with Beth Ann's parents, the Bert Brinkers of College Place, and David's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Dilts of Waitsburg. In the fall, they plan to enroll at the University of Oregon at Eugene (Beth Ann has had two years of study at the Oregon School and David spent a year on the WSC campus before enlisting in the Air Force four years ago).
