ORENZO H.2 WILDER (JAMES1) was born 1842 in VT, and died 1884. He married MARY ELIZABETH CORBIN, daughter of JAMES CORBIN and CYNTHIA CASTEEL.Notes for L
ORENZO H. WILDER:Loren and Mary (Corbin) Wilder did not sell their farm at Ayr, Adams County, Nebraska when they moved to Walla Walla, Washington. They rented their farm and returned to it when them moved home.http://myclarkfamily-kithandkin.blogspot.com/2012/02/children-of-lorenzo-h-and-mary.html
Children of Lorenzo H. and Mary Elizabeth (Corbin) Wilder
In this blog, I'll write about the children of Lorenzo H. "Loren" and Mary Elizabeth (Corbin) Wilder. If you had asked me at 8:00am this morning, I would have said there were three children. With the help of Wilder Family descendants, I thought I had pieced together the family in its entity. However, in checking genealogy websites and then the 1880 U. S. Census for Ayr Township, Adams County, Nebraska I have learned there was a fourth child, listed as a son on the above census. I have not been able to find any further evidence of this son, either on future U. S. Census reports or in the form of a burial site in Adams County, Nebraska. I also checked the cemeteries in Putnam County, Missouri thinking that Loren and Mary Wilder may have been visiting there when he died or may have deliberately buried their child "at the old home place." However I have found nothing. Therefore, I will list their children as indicated by family records and the U. S. Census:
James William Wilder born and died on September 15, 1866 at West Liberty, Putnam Co., Missouri.
Lillie Florence Wilder born July 10, 1870 at Unionville, Putnam County, Missouri.
Fred M. or Frederick M. Wilder, born in 1876, Ayr Township, Adams County, Nebraska
Estella Mae Wilder born August 23, 1883, Walla Walla, Walla Walla County, Washington
Estella Mae (Wilder) Parsons
Lorenzo H. "Loren" and his wife Mary E. (Corbin) Wilder made the long trip to Walla Walla, Walla Walla County, Washington to try homesteading and farming. They went in the fall of 1882 and returned to Ayr, Adams County, Nebraska in the fall of 1883 staying only one year.

Mrs. Mary Truitt
Mrs. Mary M Truitt 92, died Saturday in a local nursing home.
She was born Aug 12, 1877, in Wamego, Kans. and was the daughter of Mr and Mrs Herman Schwandt. Her parents moved to Oregon when she was a very small child and settled on a farm near Milton. She married S. D. Truitt in 1912 and they moved to Washtucna where he farmed. When he retired from the farm, they moved to Walla Walla where she has since lived. Truitt died in 1961.
After she moved to WallaWalla, Mrs Truitt grew an abundance of flowers which she enjoyed sharing with residents of the Odd Fellows Home and rest homes in the community. When her health failed in 1961 she moved to a nursing home and had since lived there. She was a member of the United Brethren Church and for 40 years was a member of BeeHive Rebekah Lodge.
Mrs. Truitt is survived by four grandchildren, one brother, Adam Schwandt, Weston, three sisters, Mrs. Esther Weidert, 36 E. Chestnut, Mrs Christena Schuening, Pendleton, and Mrs Homer McKenzie, Milton-Freewater. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

2 Farmers Asphyxiated In Truck
Kahlotus, Wash. (AP) Louis Wilder, 64, and his son, Julius, 35, Kahlotus area wheat farmers, were asphyxiated in the cab of a truck Monday while waiting to unload grain, the Franklin County Sheriff's office said.
The men had pulled two trucks into an elevator station and were told they would have to wait to unload their wheat onto a barge at nearby Windust. Deputies said the men got in one of the truck cabs to keep warm. Their bodies were discovered about 45 minutes later by the elder Wilder's wife who had come to pick up the pair.
The men apparently were asphyxiated when a small portable butane heater in the truck consumbed all the oxygen deputies said.
Resucitation efforts by ambulance attendants were unsuccessful and the two were pronounced dead on arrival at a Pasco hospital.

Walla Walla Union Bulletin (Walla Walla, Washington), Walla Walla Union Bulletin (Walla Walla, Washington) Record for Walla Walla Union Bulletin (Walla Walla, Washington) 1965 > December > 14 > 1 IN TRUCK KAHLOTUS, Wash (AP) Louis Wilder, 64, and his son, Julius, 35, Kahlotus area wheat farmers, were asphyxiated in the cab of a truck Monday while waiting to unload grain, the Franklin County Sheriff's office said. The men had pulled two trucks into an elavator station and were told they would have to wait to unload their wheat onto a barge at nearby Windust. Deputies said the men got in one of the truck cabs to keep warm. Their bodies were discovered about 45 minutes later by the elder Wilder's wife who had come to pick up the pair. The men apparently were asphyxiated when a small portable butane heater in the truck consumed all the oxygen deputies said. Resucitation efforts by ambulance attendants were unsuccesful and the two were pronounced dead on arrival at a Pasco hospital.
