MILLIKENS OF RHODE ISLAND.

William Milliken,1 who had brothers named ARCHIBALD and ABRAHAM, was born in Rhode Island, March 12, 1772; settled in Burlington, Otsego county, N. Y.; m., about 1796, Lucretia Davis, b. Feb. 27, 1781, d. Jan. 17, 1858. He d. April 25, 1865. Eight children all born in Burlington, N. Y.:

1. HANNAH,2 m. William Burlingame, farmer; d. in Alleghany county,

N. Y., aged 66.

2. MARY,2 b. in 1803; d. Nov., 1894, in Porter, Van Buren county, Mich.

3. WILLIAM,2 d. at the age of 9 years.

4. BENJAMIN R.,2 b. in 1809; m. Lucy Palmer Ray, in 1831; d. in Fulton

county, Ohio, in 1852, aged 43. Seven children:

I. HIRAM,3 b. in 1832; farmer in Oregon.

II. STEPHEN R.,3 b. in 1835; d. in 1854.

III. DAVIS Y.,3 b. in 1838; d. in the army in 1862.

IV. WILLIAM A.,3 b. in 1840; m. Lucy A. Egleston, of New Stonington,

Conn., in 1862; resides at Asbwillett, Conn.

VI. LUCY L.,3 born in 1846; m., in 1865, Melvin Spear and lives at Coldwater,

Mich.

VII. WESLEY O.,3 b. in 1850; lives at Big Timber, Montana, ranchman,

farmer, real estate and wool dealer.

5. ELECTA A.,2 b. Sept. 5, 1815; m. Charles S. Mason; d. in 1843.

6. JOHN L.,2 b. Mar. 1, 1822; m. first, July 4, 1844, Rosilla A. Rowland,

of Sherburne, N. Y. She d. Aug. 27, 1877. He m. second, Jan. 22,

1880, Mary H. Brooks, of North Adams, Mass; resides at Sherburne,

N. Y. Four children, two d. unmarried.

Palmer, who d. Apr., 1867. He m., second, Adelia Harris, who d. in

1890, aged 43. One child by first wife, Charles H.,4 b. Apr., 1867;

was drowned June 15, 1887. He is a lawyer at Evansville, Madison

county, N. Y.

7. PHILINDA L.,2 b. August 11, 1823; m. John R. Rhodes and lives in

Wayne county, N. Y.

"In 1877 Mr Wood was united in marriage to Miss Mary E Keith, daughter of Solon Keith, who came to Fulton county about 1840, from Erie County, Ohio, becoming one of the pioneer farmers of Gorham township. His father, Caleb Keith, was a native of Scotland, whence he immigrated to America when a Young man. The maiden name of Mrs. Wood's mother was Lucy Ray, and she was born in Connecticut.

Funeral for Milton Resident Is Monday

MILTON-FREEWATER -- Wesley O. Millikin, farmer, who had resided in this area throughout his lifetime, died at his home in South Milton Friday. Funeral services will be held from a local chapel at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon.

Millikin was born in Weston in 1879. A sister, Mrs. Addie Wells, Milton, is the only survivor.

He was born 10 Dec 1870 in Milton, Umatilla, OR, and died 21 Nov 1934 in Umatilla,OR11.

Addie M. Wells

MILTON-FREEWATER -- Mrs. Addie Mae Wells, 92, 1715 S. Main, died yesterday in a Walla Walla hospital.

Born Jan. 28, 1881 on Basket Mountain, she was the daughter of Hiram and Nancy Millikin. She married L. E. Wells in 1901 at Milton-Freewater and in 1915 they moved to the present address. They raised a family of six children and Wells died in 1934.

Mrs. Wells was a practical nurse and for 17 years was a forelady at Mojonnier and Sons, and later at Umatilla Cannery until her retirement at the age of 72 years.

Her membership at the First Christian Church covered a span of 62 years, and she was a member of the Pythian Sisters for 50 years. She was also an honorary member of the Woman's Improvement Club.

mrs. Wells is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Fred (Vera) Etling, at the home; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a niece, Mrs. Maude Cooper of Walla Walla.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Glen Mell officiating. Vault interment will follow in the Milton-Freewater Cemetery. Friends who wish to pay their respects may call at the Munselle Rhodes Funeral Home until 1 p.m. Friday.
