Marie Wilkins, 90, of Danville died Saturday, Dec. 6, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.

She was born Nov. 10, 1913, in Danville to the late Cheves "Bo" Fernandez and Gertrude Ann Frazier Fernandez. She was a homemaker, mother and a member of the United Methodist Church in Danville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Raymond Wilkins and one brother, Kyle Fernandez.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Clara Jean and Charlie Ellis of Elyria, Ohio, Linda Ann and Bob Powers of Danville and Mary Sue and Gary Davis of Danville; a stepdaughter, Lorene Garner of Booneville; three grandchildren, Lance Davis and Kevin Davis of Danville, and Cindy Conley of North Little Rock; stepgrandson, Roger Garner of Booneville; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Danville with the Rev. David Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Earl Ladd Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

WILLIAM E. CROSBY

William E. Crosby, age 87, of Austin died Saturday, November 4, 2006. Mr. Crosby was born June 27, 1919 in Waldron, Arkansas. Bill was a retired Lt. Col. in the U.S. Air Force, graduated UC Berkeley, and attended MIT, University of Arkansas and UT Austin. He was also a history teacher and lawyer. Bill was the Assistant Deputy Commissioner of the Texas Rehabilitation Commission. Survivors are his daughters, Carolyn Bryson and husband Jerry of Smiths Creek, Michigan, Betty Lee Crosby and Kathryn Jo Crosby both of Austin, a son, Bill Crosby, Jr., of Jonestown, TX; two granddaughters, Debbie Monzo of Port Huron, Michigan and Renee Slominis of Chesterfield, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ree Crosby in 2003 and a grandson, Dale Bryson. Graveside services were held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 5, at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 N. IH 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660. A memorial service was held Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 601 W. Braker Lane, Austin, TX 78753. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Love Box Food Bank, c/o St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 601 W. Braker Lane, Austin, Texas 78753.

BETTY REE McCAFFERTY CROSBY

Betty Ree McCafferty Crosby departed this life on Sunday, July 27, 2003. She was born on August 20, 1923 to Lee and Orpha McCafferty in Boles, Arkansas. She married William E. Crosby on September 27, 1942. Betty graduated from Waldron High School in Waldron, Arkansas. In the sixty years of her marriage, Betty and Bill lived in many places but spent the last forty years in Austin. She loved to cook and was a homemaker and wonderful mother and grandmother. She was even grandmother to the neighborhood children. She spent several years as a mentor at Walnut Creek Elementary School. She spent many years in the Walnut Creek Garden Club. A charter member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, she volunteered weekly giving out food from its Love Box Food Pantry. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, and one grandson, Dale Bryson. Betty is survived by her husband, William (Bill); her daughters, Carolyn Anne Bryson and her husband Jerry, Betty Lee Crosby, Kathryn Jo Crosby and by her son, William E. Crosby, Jr. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Debbie Monzo and Renee Slominis and her husband Marty; and her great-grandchildren, Ryan and Dustin Monzo and Stone and Pierce Slominis. She is also survived by a sister, Aldena Harris of Ontario, California and brothers, Gene and Paul Eddie McCafferty. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at Cook-Walden Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2003 in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home with Reverend Georgia D. Stone, Pastor of St. Mark United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Love Box, Food Pantry, St. Mark United Methodist Church, 601 W. Braker Lane, Austin, Texas 78753. Her family will remember her for her unselfish giving of love to them and as a good wife, good mother, and good person. She is beloved and is now with her Lord.
