John Meek Cheesman (1840-1889) was the son of Jacob Cheesman and Zeralda Frances Williams.

John enlisted in the Missouri Mounted Cavalry to serve his country in the Civil War, Company C, 2nd Batt'l.

John applied for pension 19 OCT 1886... Pension # 587,566 MO. He died 22 APR 1889, and his widow Nancy Jane Cheesman applied for widow's pension 16 AUG 1892.

She was awarded Widow's Pension certificate # 337,676 MO.

John Meek Cheeseman was a reverend of the Congregational Church at the time he married Nancy Jane Johnson 22 Nov. 1860 in Pike Co., Ill. He was born 8 June 1840 in Clay Co., Ill. He died 22 Apr. 1889 in Brookline, Greene Co., Mo. John and Nancy's children are Buris T (b.1861), Esther "ettie" (b.1864-d.1940,m. William C. Thompson), Delbert (b.1866-d.1930, m. Obituaries

Harold Cheesman

The funeral for Harold Cheesman, Route 3, Box 118, Reser Road, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the graveside in Milton-Freewater Cemetery.

Cheesman, 73, died following open heart surgery Wednesday in a Portland Hospital.

Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the heart fund though Colonial-DeWitt Funeral Home.

Cheesman was born June 8, 1903, in Milton-Freewater, the son of Delbert and Anna Clark Cheesman. He attended school in Milton-Freewater and touchet Cheesman was one of the first emplooyes of the Walla Walla Sears store, later being transferred to the Tacoma, and then the Seattle Sears Store.

A ham radio operator, he operated his own television and repair business. He was a member of the Seattle Civil Air Patrol and of several ham radio clubs.

He was married in Pasco in 1934. His widow, Isabelle Pearl, survives at the family home.

Others surviving are Cheesman's sisters, Ruth Allen of Charlotte Utter, and Nancy Tomlinson, both of Walla Walla. He was preceded in death by his brother, Theodore Cheesman.

PASCO (Special) -- Funeral services for Everett Arlyn Thompson, retired automotive mechanic of Burbank, who died Friday in a Pasco hospital, will be in the Bruce Lee Memorial Chapel of Pasco at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Dallas Dobson will officate. Interment will be in the Milton-Freewater cemetery.

Thompson was born in Pendleton Oct 14, 1903. He had resided at Burbank 13 years.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nina Thomason at the home in Burbank; three daughters, Mrs. William (Bonnie Jean) Waters, Mrs. Delores Blackburn, and Mrs. K.L.
